After a brief Yom Kippur hiatus, the weekly Revi’i Reviews are back! Instead of an app, however, today I want to tell you about a Hebrew-learning website I’ve used and recommended for years, called Hebrew Podcasts.

Hebrew Podcasts offers hundreds of Hebrew lessons through podcasts on all sorts of topics, from school and family life, to doctor or museum visits, to business meetings at venture capital firms. The list is extensive, and each lesson is categorized as beginner, intermediate, or advanced, so there are plenty of podcasts for learners at every level.

Each lesson starts with a brief 3-5 minute Hebrew conversation on a given subject, and then the conversation is broken down with clear explanations and additional helpful examples. You can download the video or audio to any mobile device, so you can learn while on the subway or driving to work (or anywhere else). Each lesson also comes with a downloadable full video transcription, that also includes a vocabulary list and additional practice questions.

There are also a few interactive activities, like flash cards, a matching vocabulary game, and a hangman-style game called Noah’s Ark.

While there are a couple of lessons you can do for free, Hebrew Podcasts charges a subscription fee for access, which varies depending on the length of your membership: it’s $49 for 90 days, $59 for 6 months, and $79 for a year. Returning members enjoy reduced subscription prices, and you can find all the membership details here.

Todah for reading, and don’t forget to check back next Revi’i for another review!
