About Learn to Speak Hebrew: Learn to speak Hebrew with this online beginner course for adults. You’ll learn greetings, introductory phrases, 10+ of the most common Hebrew verbs, adjectives, foods, and more, and use them to talk about yourselves and others. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to introduce and tell about yourself, and you’ll be able to describe everyday activities using a variety of pronouns, verbs, and adjectives.
Course Schedule & Syllabus: Learn to Speak Hebrew meets for 6 virtual sessions, once per week for 6 weeks. CLICK HERE for the exact days and times this course will take place.
- Week 1: you’ll learn pronouns to introduce yourselves and others, and talk about foods and drinks you like and dislike
- Week 2: you’ll add on to your week 1 knowledge and learn to tell about places you go to
- Week 3: you’ll add on to what you learned in weeks 2 & 3 and learn to describe common actions, like sitting, sleeping, and reading
- Week 4: continuing to build off of weeks 1-3, you’ll translate a story from English to Hebrew (you’ll be SO impressed with yourself, I promise!), and practice using common phrases ranging from “bon appetite,” to “excuse me.”
- Week 5: you’ll take all you learned from weeks 1-4 to describe an even wider range of every actions, like playing, talking, and listening to music.
- Week 6: the final week – you’ll use everything you learned to create a mini presentation about yourself, and we’ll marvel at how much Hebrew you learned to use in just six weeks! 🎉
Technology: We will use Zoom, Canvas, and Duolingo for our course. Zoom is a free online meeting platform, and Canvas is where you will access all of our course materials. Duolingo is a free language learning app that will supplement our classwork; you’ll receive an invitation to our Duolingo classroom, Canvas, and Zoom one week before class begins.

- Courses with less than 4 enrollments will be canceled, 5 days before the first day of class at the latest. If your course is cancelled, you will receive a 100% refund.
